What is Supplier Alert?
Supplier Alert is a FREE personalized update service that e-mails you when new products and information, for suppliers you¡®re interested in, are posted on Global Sources Online. By subscribing to Supplier Alert you will get:
• Supplier Alert updates.
• Supplier's new product postings

What are the features and functions of Supplier Alert?

1.  Supplier Alert updates
These alerts notify you of the latest supplier updates on Global Sources Online. It's simple to follow the supplier you want to receive updates on. Each update is sent to you as an e-mail in HTML format containing such supplier information as new product posting images, changes to contact information and participation in Tradeshows.

2.  Edit Supplier list
You can easily edit your followed supplier list by going to the edit supplier page.

3.  Settings
Your Supplier Alert Settings page lets you turn your e-mail updates on or off.

To receive updates, just check the appropriate box. To stop receiving them, simply uncheck the box. Please note: You won't lose your followed suppliers if you choose to stop receiving updates. They'll continue to be available on your followed suppliers list.

How often will I receive Supplier Alert? How do I manage the frequency of the alerts?
By default, alerts are sent out daily. If you want to receive alerts less often, you can update the alert frequency to "Weekly" on the Settings page.

1.  Go to Settings page. (login is required)
2.  Under "E-mail Delivery Frequency", select "Weekly summary".
3.  Click on "Update" to save the change.

Why should I sign up for Supplier Alert?
You can use Supplier Alert to source more efficiently, without wasting time searching for new products, suppliers and related industry news. Plus, you'll always be among the first to learn about newly-posted products and supply-industry changes that will impact your business.

With Supplier Alert, you will get:
•  E-mail updates on the latest products and news for the categories you select
•  Full-color product pictures and top-line specifications for each featured product
•  Links to in-depth product and supplier information
•  Your own personalized Supplier Alert Homepage (For Full registered members)

How do I follow suppliers?
You can "follow" suppliers by clicking the "Follow me" link found in the page types shown below:

Product profile page
  Supplier website

When you see the "Follow me" link next to a supplier's name, simply click on it and follow the instructions to start receiving alert updates for that supplier.

Search for a supplier that you want to follow by using our supplier search and going to the supplier's website, where you'll see the "Follow me" link.

Why must I reconfirm my request to receive Supplier Alert updates?
This is to ensure that your request to receive Supplier Alert e-mails is verified as authentic by you.

What information will I see in my Supplier Alert updates?
The following information will be available:

•  Individual product details and supplier information on the followed supplier
•  Full-color product pictures and top-line specifications for each product posted by the supplier
•  Updates of the supplier's contact information

You can visit the Edit supplier page to see your followed suppliers.

How do I unsubscribe from Supplier Alert?
There are two options available:
1.  You can unsubscribe from Supplier Alert by going to your Settings page (login required) and unchecking the boxes for Supplier Alerts.

Note: you can re-check the checkbox at any time to start receiving Supplier Alerts again.
(Your followed suppliers list will be maintained so you don't have to re-select them.)

2.  You can click on the "Unsubscribe" link at the top and bottom of Supplier Alert e-mails you receive.

I have already registered for Global Sources Online but I am not receiving Supplier Alert updates. Why?
Here are the possible reasons:
•  You are not following any suppliers or all of your followed suppliers have become unverified
Check your Edit Supplier page to see if you¡¯re following any suppliers. You need to follow at least one verified supplier in order to start receiving Supplier Alert updates. If you're not following any suppliers, you can visit the product profile page or supplier website to follow them.

•  Supplier Alert is unchecked on your Settings page
You may have unchecked the option to receive Alerts in the Settings page.
1.  Click Settings (under Supplier Alert) in the left navigation bar.
2.  Make sure the Supplier Alert options are checked.
3.  Click Update to start receiving updates again.

•  Your e-mail address is incorrect
Make sure your e-mail address is correct. You can view and change your e-mail address on your User Profile page. You can access this page from the top navigation bar or from the bottom of the Settings or Edit Supplier pages.
•  You haven't activated your request
Check your e-mail inbox. You have to activate your account through the e-mail from Global Sources with subject "Response required to complete your request."

Why do I receive so many Supplier Alert updates?
This is likely because you've selected a large number of suppliers to follow. You can reduce the number of followed suppliers on your Edit Supplier page. Or you can choose to get updates on weekly basis from your Settings page.

Why are the product images missing from my Supplier Alert e-mail?
If product images don't appear, your e-mail program may be blocking them. You can learn how to unblock images by going to How to view images in Supplier Alert updates. Or click on any product link or image to view full details at Global Sources Online.

I'm going away for a few weeks and don't want to receive Supplier Alert e-mail updates during that time. What can I do?
You can temporarily stop Supplier e-mail updates.
1.  Go to Settings.
2.  Uncheck Supplier Alert options.
3.  Click Update.

How do I change my e-mail address? (For Full registered members)
1.  Click the User Profile link in any Supplier Alert e-mail you receive.
Or if you're logged in, click on the link in the top navigation bar.
Or on either the Edit Categories or Settings pages, click the User Profile e-mail address link.
2.  Once on your User Profile page, enter your new e-mail address
3.  Click Submit.
4.  Go to the inbox for your new e-mail address, and activate your account through the e-mail from Global Sources with the subject "Response required to complete your request."

Upon activation, your Supplier Alert updates will be sent to your new e-mail address.

How do I change my password? (For Full registered members)
1. Log in to your registered account, then click the User Profile link at the top navigation bar.
2. Click the Change Password link.
3. Complete all fields.
4. Click Submit.

How do I enable cookies on my computer?
If you are using Internet Explorer 6.0:
1.  Go to Internet Options found under the Tools menu bar.
2.  Click on the Privacy tab.
3.  Make sure the privacy setting is not set to "High" or "Block all cookies." Then click "Apply" and "OK" to enable cookies to be set.
