What do I need to register?
To register for free, all you need is a valid e-mail address and password, plus your name, company name and country.

Once you've registered, you can use this email address and password for all Global Sources Online products and services.

How do I register?
Registration to Global Sources is simple and fast:
1.  Click on the Register link at the top navigation bar on any Global Sources Online page
2.  Complete the required fields.
3.  If you wish, enter one or more keywords to receive e-mail updates when new products are posted online, then click Continue. On the next page, you'll see matching categories to select for your Product Alert e-mail updates (free with your registration). Select your categories and click “Subscribe Now”. You will then see a confirmation page. Check your e-mail inbox afterwards and click the verification link in the e-mail we send you in order to confirm your Product Alert request.
4.  If you don't want to enter any keywords, simply click Continue. On the next page, you will again have the option to enter keywords to select categories for free Product Alert e-mail updates.

What are the guidelines for choosing a password?
Your Global Sources password is case-sensitive. Here are a few guidelines for creating passwords:
•  Use at least eight characters.
•  Make a password easy for you to remember but hard for someone else to guess.
•  Avoid passwords closely related to your personal information. For example, don't use your login name or company name.
•  Use a mixture of letters or numbers and the punctuation marks (. _ -) — but don't use spaces.

Why do I get the error message "This E-mail Address already exists" when I enter my e-mail address?
This means someone has already registered that particular e-mail address with Global Sources Online.

What you can do:
•  Use a different e-mail address.
•  You may have registered previously using this e-mail address. You can click on "Forgot your password?" on the Registration or Login Page and follow the instructions.
•  If you are not sure if you are registered, please contact Global Sources Customer Services for help. If you require immediate assistance, you can Chat online with a Customer Service representative.

What is "Remember me when I come back"?
If you check the “Remember me when I come back” box, you will never have to re-enter your e-mail address or password. (Unless you intentionally log out because you are using a shared computer or you have deleted cookies from your PC.)

You can browse other sites, read and answer e-mail, even shut down your computer. When you return to Global Sources, you'll automatically be reconnected. Nothing could be more convenient.

Important: Please remember your e-mail address and password. For security reasons, we will ask you to re-enter your password when you access personalized areas of the site, such as your Product Alert settings, User Profile and Notifications settings.

The User Profile link can be found at the top navigation bar. Note: You may be asked to login for access.

Should I check the "Remember Me" box?
If you are not using a shared computer or aren't concerned that other people may see your pages, we recommend you check it for easier access to the site.

If you are using a shared computer in a library, Internet cafe, university, airport or other common area, we recommend that you do not check the "Remember me" box.

What if I change my mind?
You can log out of the website at any time by clicking the “Logout” link at the top right-hand corner. After logging out, you can login again and choose whether to let your browser remember you.

Why does my registration form become blank when I submit it?
If the fields on your registration form become blank and nothing happens when you submit it, the problem may be that your browser's cookies setting is disabled or set at a too high or restricted level.

Our system uses cookies to make it easier for you to access Global Sources' services. To complete your registration, please "enable your cookies." Learn how cookies work and how to enable cookies.

Once I'm registered, what happens next?
After registration, you are automatically logged in to Global Sources Online and are able to use a much wider range of Global Sources services. You will also receive a Welcome e-mail from us, with helpful hints on how to use our Product Alert service.

Important: After registering, we recommend that you go to your User Profile page and complete your company information. This will let our system pre-complete an inquiry form with your details before you send it to suppliers Providing more details will also help suppliers reply to your requests appropriately.

To do this make sure you are logged into the site. The User Profile link will only appear in the top navigation bar after a successful login.

Why should I select product categories?
Selecting product categories allows you to use Global Sources Product Alert, a customizable e-mail service that updates you on products, suppliers and industry news – in the categories you've selected – as soon as they're posted on Global Sources Online. You can add or remove categories, or stop receiving Product Alert updates, at any time.
